I worked on the typesetting of the “Alaska battle flag” and think this version looks better. I was able to include the word “federal” this time making it consistent with the draft legislation.
As a historian, I am amazed at the lack of knowledge the Alaska Legislature has at understanding the solution to our current economic crisis. State-led federal monetary bonding, grants and shares have the ability to end all budget cuts and end all the proposals to tax individuals.
A big part of the problem is that much of Alaska’s top leadership is still missing the significance of a historical pattern that has repeated itself many times in United States history.
The fact is that our nation returns to Alexander Hamilton’s American System of political economy when our nation faces danger. That danger is very real now that the massive worldwide financial derivatives bubble is beginning its inevitable collapse.
As this crisis unfolds over the next few months, maybe our current Governor Bill Walker will finally realize the strategic error he made in joining the oligarchic attack on Alexander Hamilton’s image on the United States 10-dollar bill. If Alaska’s governor had a true understanding of history he would have insisted on identifying the replacement of the face on the 20-dollar bill—not the ten.
Alexander Hamilton’s American System is a superior economic system that has proven itself many times in United States history through the winning of wars (justified or not), and raising employment and living standards around the world.
Let us fly the Alaska battle flag to help lead our state and nation back to the American System. Let us fight, once again, for the economic system that allows our nation to survive and prosper.
