In the early 1980s the editors of the Anchorage Daily News told me that the articles I had written against the deregulation of financial derivatives would not be interesting to their readers. Their true intention is still unclear to me. Maybe they truly are the lapdogs of international finance.

Today our entire civilization is collapsing caused directly by gambling in financial derivatives. A giant worldwide debt pyramid based on financial instruments that were strictly illegal between 1946 and 1982 now consume all financial capital that should be invested in agriculture, industry and infrastructure.

Today the only means left for the survival of almost 50 million Americans is the food stamp program. Cutting this program will lead directly to malnutrition, rickets, scurvy, pellagra, reduced brain development for children, and death.

As an activist historian I must point out that cutting this program is an act of genocide.

First the reactionary Republicans and the Wall Street Democrats take away the regulations that control financial gambling and now they are going to take away our food.

If you are finally are ready to learn a programmatic approach for building a political movement in Alaska read my timeline. Genocide is not an option.
