OBJECTIVE
My goal is to take my practical experience in construction and political organizing into the financial world to help bring both light and heavy manufacturing industry to Alaska through helping to create the Alaska State Bank.
EXPERIENCE
Union Ironworker & General Foreman 1976 to present.
As a member of the Alaska Ironworkers Union Local #751 participated in constructing commercial and industrial buildings, bridges, dams, harbors, power plants, agricultural structures, schools, hospitals, highways, airports, and utilidors. Employed in most areas of ironwork, including connecting, cutting, welding, sheeting, bolting, reinforcing, rigging, glazing, fabricating, signaling, and operating heavy equipment. Commanded leadership positions as a foreman, general foreman and construction inspector. One of Alaska’s leading experts in construction and specifications for both commercial and industrial bridge-crane buildings. As an employee of an independent contractor managed job sites and employees for construction and engineering services.
Political Organizer 1982 to present.
Participated in many campaigns and conference events as a past member of EIR News Service Inc. Ran for Alaska State House in 1984 and Alaska State Senate in 1986. Gave press conferences, and speeches, and appeared on television many occasions as a member of multiple institute and foundation systems. Author of The United Alaska Campaigner; a newsletter about industrial science policy and financial reform. Met with many political leaders to discuss economic development and monetary reform. Published over 50 letters to the editor and Compass articles. Past chair of the limited political party; Independents for Economic Recovery. Chair of Anchorage Pathway Loop. Author of the Facebook page Alaska State Bank Advocate. Past State of Alaska research employee of the Alaska Legislature. Primary author of the Alaska State Bank legislation as a development bank.
INTERESTS
Lifelong commitment to the study of political economy, industrial science policy, and software. I have strong verbal skills in debate and organizing and have always considered myself an activist historian. As a construction general foreman my goal is to treat everyone with respect in making sure all employees are safe, productive, and learning new skills.
